Snow Lovers

I like snow, only when It's warm outside. Today it was.

I broke out Briggsies new Snowboard and we gave it a whirl.

He was so ready, and SO into the idea.

With a little help from Dad, Briggs was all smiles and couldn't get enough of snowboarding.

Then He just took off himself.... huh?! Ya, this kid is a Lindsey.

The little man is hooked, just like his Dad.

We made our first snowman. He was a bit tipsy and immediately fell over. (notice his right eye in the process of falling out as well) I need more practice with snowman constructing.

Then onto snowball throwing. Briggsies favorite past-time is throwing. He was in heaven.

Bryce and I also got a little snow ourselves. We went up to a resort and went snowboarding and stayed the night at a nice condo for Valentines.

It's been a pretty good winter. Snows one day, then melts the next. Glad we had an opportunity to play in it.

Bryce Turned 30! I can't believe I'm married to such a young lad!

Our little Briggsie also had a birthday and turned 2! He's our big boy.

He's started to talk bunches the past month and is HILarious!

Favorite things:

Playing basketball, watching Movies (Nemo), binkies, unscrewing lids, eating toothpaste, taking vent covers out of the floor, going to the gym, eating pancakes (waffles) & eggs, drinking water, and LOVES dancing and singing.

A Frightening Infatuation

Haunted Farm House.

Love this creepy place.

This is an abandoned farm that I discovered close to our home.

Both Bryce and Briggs are afraid of this place. I however, could come here everyday and just hang out.
On one of my "hang-out" occasions I met the owner as he made his monthly drive-by.
He let me go through the place and take whatever I wanted. I nabbed some old doors and windows!
Not quite sure what I'm going to do with them. But they rock!

There's something about boys and random toilets that go together.

This Place is beautiful, even though It's totally haunted and scary, I could live here. sigh.

On a different note, we had an awesome time at the local pumpkin patch.
Briggs was in heaven.

He was more into the farm equipment, random contraptions, and jumping off things, than the pumpkins. (umm...apparently so was I)

I'm pretty much in-love with taking pictures of Briggs.

He's the perfect little subject for my photography obsession

And as you know, I can NEVER post just 1 picture.

(Although I'm sure the Grammy's & Papa's don't mind :)

His new favorite things: Vitamins!!!! Usually the first thing he says when he wakes is "Buddy do" Which translated means...Vitamins.

His next favorite word is "Shaved Ice" (thanks to Dad) and is pronounced: "Dice"

I got him this cute little skateboard because he was trying to get on Daddy's big skateboards, which scared me, so I thought a littler one would be a safer bet.

As you can see he's already doing tricks off the thing.

I've been informed this trick is called the "kick foot."

The funniest thing he says, that his Dad taught him, is "Uncle."

He says this whenever we are wrestling, hugging, holding or cuddling him in anyway.

It means...let me go!

I pulled out my camera the other night, Briggs saw me, got a terrified look on his face and ran/sprinted away, looking back multiple times to assure I wasn't "following" him.

Yikes. I might need some other people to practice on. I'm creating a camera phobic child. Sad :(

We've had a lot of fun travels this summer.

We went to California...

It was really special for Briggs to hang out with his Grammy & Papa

Lake Powell...

Bryce and I went wakeboarding together

Briggs even got out there on his 1st wakeboard run at 18 months old and LOVED it.

We had lots of toddler skinny-dipping going on.

I was afraid that Briggs would fall/jump into the water without a life-vest. Mainly because, that's something he would do. But I didn't have to worry. He loved the water, and has actually since learned how to hold his breath under water and tread/dog paddle in the water without a life vest.

Salt Lake, Utah...

We welcomed my Brother Doug home from his mission from Mexico City, and sent my other Brother Russell out on his Mission to Columbia.

Park City...

Doug brought home the family some native Mexican outfits. We had a lot of fun dressing up.

Bryce and I went to the Olympic village and went bobsledding.

Bryce felt like it was the most intense thing he has ever done. Ever.

Washington D.C...

We attended the Restoring Honor Rally hosted by Glenn Beck. It was AWESOME!!!

There were SO MANY people there for the same reason we were. We LOVE our Country.

I made Bryce take me over to the Lincoln memorial the morning of the Rally at 5:00 a.m to get a spot. It started at 10:00 a.m. There were already thousands of people there. I got a decent spot, but the crowds were amazing. After the rally was over and the huge crowds were dispersing, we got a cool picture of the Lincoln memorial where it was held.

and yes, I SAW Abe Lincoln. alive!

Bryce was able to give a press conference behind the Presidential podium.

We loved Washington D.C. Especially the rally and viewing all our nations historical monuments/documents.

It was super cool.

Briggsie is cuter than ever lately.

He was a little trooper through our travels.

Now we are home and Briggsie has become a ninja ...

When I pull out my camera he makes it clear that he doesn't like it.

...threatens my life.

Thank goodness he can't remain a bully for long.

We had a fun Summer.

18 Months Big!

I took Briggs out into the fields to pose for his "Mama's camera"....which he hates.

As soon as he sees it, he'll barely look at me and WON'T smile.

But he's still darn cute.

Briggs loves ants, ceiling fans, food, his binkie & blankie, balls, spinning around and getting dizzie, going fast, climbing and wrestling.

He loves to eat eggs, and hates squash.

He's now 3 ft tall and 128 lbs! (oops, yes I did mean 28 lbs ;)

He answers "no" to everything.

Lately he's been a little talker. But still not saying much that's legible...even if he already knows how to say the word.

He loves water and digging in the dirt.

He's all boy.

Life & Death.

Read on....

So, the last couple months Briggs has grown out of his clothes & shoes.

He started saying words and... he's really funny.

He's a little daredevil. Nothing scares the kid.

He loved jumping on Auntie's Trampoline. Takes extreme concentration to get that high.

We went to St. George for family reunion on both sides.

It was lots of fun with the Grammy's, Papa's, Cousins, Auntie's & Uncles.

Then Papa and Grammy Steed visited us at our house.

Papa made our nasty garden nice and pretty and Briggsie was there every second of the project.

Bryce and Spence have been selling shaved-ice every chance they get. Look at the line!

We took Briggs on his first real hike up in the mountains of Estes Park.

He couldn't get enough! The kid hiked half of it by himself...in sandles!

It was neccessary, however, to make frequent stops to observe the wild-life.

Then....Spencer turned 30! Holla!

We took him on a river rafting expedition down trecherous terrain.

Spencer will live to see his 31st birthday.

I, however, was the one who almost died after some rapids tried swallowing me whole!

Thanks to my guide, Bryce and Spencer for clinging onto me for dear life while I hung half-way out of the boat with the rapids desiring to beat me to a bloody pulp. enough said.

We went to a 4th of July parade.

Instead of watching the floats, Briggs prefered the Jungle-gym.

We took Briggsie to the local petting zoo at the fair grounds.

He was fearless.

Bryce & Spence sold shaved Ice for the 4th and unfortunately instead of good-weather and mucho sales, they were inflicted with a freaken Monsoon!

They came home shivering and drenched with no money in their pockets and reports of their shade breaking into 10 pieces while almost taking Spencer's head off as it flew 95 mph wrapping itself around a tree. Unretrievable. Sad.

But, little did they know that they were coming home to a plate of gluten-free flag brownies! yeah-ya!

I love Independance day.

In the next couple weeks we'll be traveling to:

California, Lake Powell, Draper and Park City for little trips!

New Addition....

Whose the new addition to our Colorado family?

Spencer!

Bryce and His Partner, Spencer, are getting the shaved-ice empire ready for this summer.

Spencer just moved here from Utah and is staying with us for the time-being.

Briggs loves having more testosterone around the house.

He gets sick of seeing his Mommy's face 24-7.

Plus, he gets thrown around more often...which he loves.

Briggs has been pushing the boundaries lately. I finally gave in and put him in time-out. This is what he thought about it.... Apparently, it was pretty funny that Mom got mad and made him sit.

About a month ago, this is where I found Briggs.

...In the sink.

He loves toothpaste and he figured he'd get it himself by climbing onto the counter.

Currently I'm having a hard time finding new hiding spots for my stuff. He gets into EVERYTHING!

Briggs love to beat on anything that makes a sound. He's going to be a drummer in a band. This we know.

Most the time he is running.

...usually away from me.

This is the visual I see often. He takes off, with only one backward glance, making sure I'm not pursuing him as he escapes.

A Gentleman's Easter

For Easter Briggsie got his first suit.
He was VERY serious and nice as I took pictures. It must have been the gentleman in him.
I might need him to wear this suit everyday.
We had Briggs color eggs. He picked up the idea really fast.
Unfortunately He didn't realize the colors dye the counter when spilled.
What a mess!
We had a neighborhood egg hunt.
So fun watching Briggs pick up and stick the eggs in his basket.
Then he realized he could throw the eggs on the ground, splitting them in half to reveal candy!
Holidays are so much more fun with this little guy.

Tall and Lean with a Small Head

I finally went in to the pediatrician for Briggsies 12 month well-checkup. (He's almost 14 months...)

95th percentile in Height (32.5 inches)

50th Percentile in weight (24 lbs)

35th percentile in head circumference. (18.25 inches)

Although he is a growing boy, he runs around constantly burning massive amounts of calories so unfortunately, he can't keep the weight on! So sad to be him...right?

His new favorite thing recently is climbing onto, and balancing (standing) on the rocking chair glider Ottoman. The concentration on his face is palatable. (I won't let him stand unless I'm right next to him...just in case.)

He thrives on being outdoors. He squeals like a school girl when I let him penetrate the barriers of my 4 walls. He will be in heaven when spring comes.

And.... Even though it sounds like he speaks some fluent unique Slavic dialect, he has said his first word that we can understand (besides the word Mom & Dad). The word is Peek-a-boo! He also says a versions of Ball, although, at this point it sounds only like a monkey grunt.

We took home a real trophey, it was like a golden globe!

The competition was Extremely competative... lots of bruises, pulled groins, sweat, muscle soreness, etc etc. But, everybody pulled through.

The moves/skills/choreography/passion/ determination was unlike I've ever seen!

Was the funnest night EVER!!!
Hopefully we can recruite some more willing and competative couples and make it a semi-anual event.

What a year!

Our little Briggsie has turned 1 year old!!!!For his Birthday he received a special homemade gluten-free, dairy-free, & sugar-free cake!

Which was De-lish!

I was more excited about letting him dive into his cake than I was about anything else.
The kid knows how to stuff his face!
I loved it!

We planned a special day for him full of chucky cheese...which was SO LAME!

It was WAY trashy and only about 2 rides worked.

However, Bryce disappeared for awhile, only to be found winning the game, Deal or NO Deal.

He proceeded to win 2 more times and you'd think those large amounts of tickets he scored would have bought us a large stuffed teddy bear...on no. no no. A small plastic lizard is more like it. Although, we did score this awesome picture taken by Chuck E. Cheese himself.

Anyway, after being un-impressed with that place, we found
ourselves at "Jumpin," a kids inflated playground area.

A couple days later we had a birthday party for Briggs with 16 kids and 10 adults!

It was a PARTAY!

Unfortunately my pictures didn't turn out from the party, but it was fun and crazy!

Immediately, overnight, Briggs has changed. This is no joke.

He's developed this little attitude. I'm not sure what to do about it.

Is it to early to put a child that just turned 1 in timeout? if not, how do you discipline when he's a bad boy?

This picture is where I found him yesterday after 2 seconds of taking my eyes off him.

His mischievousness isn't the problem, it's his sassyness.

It's fun to see him develop and change. He's just doing it too fast!

My little baby is a little boy now.

Guys Weekend

My awesome sis-in-law, Sam, secretly planned a surprise trip for Bryce's Brother, Eric, to come out and visit us from California! They were able to talk their father, Papa Lindsey, to come also for a guys get-away. Sam made it possible for them to go snowboarding for the weekend at a nice resort. They also had a tennis competition and indulged in shaved-ice. Bryce was SO HAPPY to have his family taste his favorite treat.

I was really impressed with how many Papa could put down.

Hurray! We moved into our NEW home.

For those Fam Members that have requested pictures of the house...

Walking in the front door you are greeted by the FRONT ROOM
Behind the front room is my Fav....THE KITCHEN!
It has all the space a girl could want. Love the Island and the Pantry. Our DINING ROOM is to die for with sunset views and a walk out deck.

It's nice and big. Plenty of room for toys and games.

It also walks out onto our back deck.

His first Christmas

At first Briggsie was scared of our Christmas Tree. Checking it out from all sides, but not daring to go near. After a bit of coaxing, by taking his hand and petting the tree very nicely, he finally felt comfortable enough to help me apply the decorations. He was fascinated by our Manger scene in a globe and when I wasn't looking, broke off the wing of the Angel flying above it.
And of course I told him the story about the nativity. While I was in the depths of my story, and Briggs seemed totally enthralled, baby Jesus suddenly went missing!

Thank goodness Briggsie was keeping him safe in his mouth. So we carefully returned him to his manger and the story ended and the nativity went on a high shelf.

Briggs met Santa Claus Himself!
This particular Santa didn't like Children.
I don't blame Briggsie for crying.

So, a nice Santa came to our Colorado house 3 days before Christmas.

We wanted to have an ugly Christmas Sweater eve, but turns out that we only had cute sweaters.

Although Briggsie received a lot of nice gifts, he was way excited about the wrapping paper this year.

11 Months

Our little Briggsie is getting SO big.

Briggs took his first steps the day before Thanksgiving and hasn't stopped walking since. He shakes and nods his head. He's a pro at going up and down stairs after only one spill.

He hates broccoli and loves blueberries, strawberries, green beans, and peas. His toys are a thing of the past and since we moved into our new house, he's been scaling the new terrain and will play with anything that looks or acts like a stick.

Surgery

Today Briggs went into surgery for his spine.

He has a low-lying conus.

He got to ride into the hospital in his own wagon carrying all his and Mommy's luggage in order to stay a couple nights to recover.

He knew something was up and was a bit clingy.
He loved the fishies in the fish tank.

Before his surgery he was able to dress in the hospital garb and was extremely curious with all the nobs, buttons, and new things to press and play with in the room.
He figured out that the mattress was bouncy and Luuved jumping on the bed
The wait was quite long and without food or drink all morning, he became silent, still, and somber. Not like him at all. Around 1:30 he finally went into surgery after a long delay.

We were able to go into the operating room with him to watch him go under anesthesia. We had to wear our special hospital uniforms. Briggsie obviously thought we looked weird. He kept staring at us with intense curiosity. It was cute.

We're glad to report that the surgery went perfect.

Briggsie did so well and was extremely brave.

We want to thank you all for your prayers and thoughts for us this day.

We felt your support and love and we want to thank you SO MUCH!

We've had a lot going on lately, and I haven't taken very many pics.

Here's a quick update about our Briggsie.

He received some new toys from his Daddy & Mommy which he LOVES!

His favorite is his stand up interactive table.

It sings songs, which he dances to. Speaks spanish...which he's becoming fluent in. Counts, plays piano, has a computer, and a phone! So, needless to say Briggs is becoming fluent in elecronics.

His second favorite toy is his truck, which he walks behind and rides on. I observed him the other day pushing it over to the coffee table, afterwich he knocked it over, climbed onto it and proceeded to try climbing onto the coffee table. Fortunatley, for me, he couldn't quite make it onto the table. But, he certainly tried.

It's been nice weather and we've gone to the park a couple times...which he loves!

He's had a little runny nose lately too. Massive flowage. Makes it hard to breath and sleep.

Briggs started crawling a couple weeks ago.

He loves the freedom and is constantly on the move.

His favorite terrain is the kitchen floor, cupboards and dishwasher.This morning I caught him getting into my purse and going through my wallet!

No doubt looking for cash!

Moments later he decided to rearrange the books and toys...
and then he tried scaling the bookshelf.
(yes, he actually tried climbing it)
I love watching him try new things and venture into new places.

I may not be so stoked about his new ability in a couple months, but for now I think its adorable.

I have land mines all over the floor.

My cream carpet now looks speckled orange and white.

This kid spits-up CONSTANTLY.

Whenever we play around I'm always on guard, so I can dodge an upload.

But this time I wasn't so lucky.

After he produced this puddle on my neck, he rubbed his face in it.

Moments later he did this......And again moments later he spit up on himself and Daddy.

(Bryce wouldn't let me post the pic since he was not dressed appropriately :)

This scenario is extremely frequent in our household.

I read that this spit-up stuff is normal.

But this much?! It can't be!

Frontier Days

We've spent the last 10 days in Cheyenne, Wyoming selling shaved ice at the famous Frontier days...the biggest Rodeo anywhere!

It was pretty grueling, but we had a bunch of fun. I loved watching Bryce come up with ways to market and see his satisfaction when he saw the enjoyment on peoples faces after tasting the fluffiness.Briggsie was such a good sport traveling almost every day from Colorado to Wyoming and spending morning till night outside amongst the people selling shaved ice. We set up his pack-n-play next to the shack and he played and slept in there. He was such a trooper.

We met a bunch of people from all over the country, and world.

I never knew this rodeo was so big.
We got an opportunity to go to the actual pro finals rodeo. It was awesome!Our little Briggsie is now an official cowboy.

6 Months

I can't believe my little boy is already 6 months old.

I love waking up each morning to see what new little thing he'll start doing.

Every day he is different, older, more grown up.

He has the sweetest personality. He is my little buddy.

Bryce and I agree that our life began when this little guy entered our family.

We don't want to remember what it was like without him.

My sweet cousin Camille and her family invited us to our first major league baseball game in Colorado. It was Briggsies first experience with professional sports.

He was fascinated by the bright lights and the boys that sat behind us.His little buddy CarlyIt was SO nice to get out as a family and do something fun

I was barely able to cram the food in his mouth, and he insisted on keeping it pointed at me the WHOLE time.

We got the results from Briggsies MRI.

We received 2 differing opinions.

The radiologist thought it looks like he has a Tethered cord. This is where the spinal cord fails to separate from the skin of the back during development, preventing it from ascending normally. Although the skin is separated and closed at birth, the spinal cord stays in the same location after the closure. As the child continues to grow, the spinal cord can become stretched, causing neurological damage and interfering with the blood supply to the spinal cord. This can lead to sensory and motor problems, as well as loss of bladder and bowel control.

HOWEVER, the Neurosurgeon thought that it didn't look like a Tethered cord. He said he doesn't think it's abnormal. I think he's right.

We hopefully will have a different Neurosurgeon look at it and give us another opinion.

I think Briggsie will be just fine. Mothers instincts.

MRI

Briggsie went to the hospital today to get an MRI on his little spine.

He has a little S curve on his lower spine, so the doc just wanted to check it out, just as a precaution.

They had us feed him apple juice hours before the procedure and he was jumping off the walls! We had fun playing around in the hospital room before they came and took him.
I was so worried about having him sedated for the procedure. He's only just a little baby!
Drugs scare me.

We waited for him for about 45 minutes. And it went well. We'll get the results in a couple days.
I was SO HAPPY to know they were done. Anyone that knows me, knows I'm not a fan of hospitals.

When he came-to he acted a little drunk, slurring his squeals and flopping his body. But he came out of it fairly quickly and he was back to his cute self.

I love this boy.

By the way... he weighs 17 lbs and is 27 inches long

He's officially doubled his birth weight!

Lately Briggs has been incredibly hungry. He acts like he needs to eat almost every hour! My milk isn't that capable, so we decided to supplement with baby foods.

His first meal...my fav, Yams!He wasn't quite sure about the whole experience. He thought the spoon was a chewing toy and thought the yams needed to be spit out rather than swallowed.

It took awhile, but now he's a champ...

I'd like to confess an addiction. I'm sure you've noticed my addiction... It's becoming a problem. It's slowing our computers...breaking them down, overloading the memory. It's not my fault though, it runs in my family. I inherited this addict gene from my Grandma. My dear Grana Steed, the one that always has a camera in her hand. Now that I think about It, I've never seen her without one.

I'm addicted to taking pictures. I take lots of them. Do you know how hard it is to sift through the multi-thousands to decide which ones go on my blog?! It's a nightmare! The major problem is taking quazillion pictures of the same thing, the same person, the same pose. It's complicating my life. But, everytime I try to just take one, I think....I just...can't...stop(in slow motion)! My finger has developed a very skilled fast twitch muscle that does what it wants. If i've inherited this problem, how do I shake it?

A month ago I had an intervention and I committed to only posting no more than 10 pics per post. I've done pretty good, but It's been extremely difficult. It's a daily battle and I feel like I'm going to relapse.

Briggs is addicted...to T.V.... Thanks to Dad. I was holding him and he was fussing then he arched his back and landed in the position shown above all in an effort to view the T.V. in which he immediately stopped fussing and watched his favorite show, the Denver Nuggets playoff game.
My circus clowns have been working on mastering the art of the balancing baby act.

Briggs HATES tummy time. We've been trying to practice more this week, trying to average at least 5 min/day which is a nightmare!
I decided after having a boy that doesn't sleep all day long and survives solely on 5-10 min catnaps, that It's time for a routine!
I've been putting him to sleep at the same time for his afternoon nap and he loves it!
He naps for 3 hours straight and still goes to sleep at night.

I made Briggs get all cutesied up and inflicted a photo shoot upon him. He wasn't happy about the 3,650 pics. He now weighs 15 lbs. 8 oz. He loves his Dad, playing patty cake with Mom and going to the gym where he gets random people offering to babysit him for free

He enjoys talking his language and having Daddy chime in and respond in his own made up language, which is different than Briggs' but equally incomprehensable...they seem to understand each other which is rather creepy, but cute.

Bryce's little sis got married over the weekend in Cali and we traveled there to celebrate

Jessica was beautiful and the wedding was wonderful. We are so glad to have Mike in the fam.
This is not a photo shoot with the heat lamps, but rather a memory of the grueling task these gentlemen had of moving these wonderful contraptions to and fro. They were life-savers on a chili night.

The reception was beautiful! It was located on the incredibly gorgeous property of the Harns family

SHOCKED!? Bryce had the same reaction when he saw the large + sign on my pregnancy test located on the bathroom counter. He was actually quite excited and couldn't believe our children would only be 10 months apart!

He couldn't stop smiling until I told him april fools, afterwhich he was pretty bummed.... hmmm interesting.

So, how did I fake it, you ask? I had my sweet preggo friend pee on the stick for me. What a BFF.

After awhile of looking at that positive pregnancy test I actually started to get quite excited, convincing myself that I just might be pregnant! Maybe, quite possibly, I might be....?! So you better believe I got me a test AND............nope, negativo. No babies 10 months a part. Which is probably a good thing.

Briggs is 8 weeks old and weighs 13 lbs! He's our big boy. Every morning he wakes up with lots of smiles for his Mommy & Daddy.

It makes our day! For his 2 months party Bryce and I took him to his first Zoo experience.

There is this guy in the area that has made a zoo in his yard of his tin/metal creations. It was interesting and creepy.

On Sunday he looked so special in his tie - shirt.

His belly even hung over the top of his pants, which is a requirement for male church goers

He loves his bouncy chair. Bryce rigged it so his feet now touch the ground. He bounces and loves looking at the birdies at the top.

His favorite hobby is showering! He LOVES it.

What a Blessing

Briggs was blessed in Utah last weekend March 8th. The whole family was there on both sides to support us. It was a wonderful experience.Here he is all ready for the big day!He was blessed on the same day as his cousin Maddison Lindsey White

Briggs' Uncle and Auntie came into town from Sacramento to see him.

Briggs adores them. They played and coo'd over him. He loved it!We all went up to the local mountains and stayed the night at winter parkBryce and his brother went snowboarding and pregnant Sammie and I hung out at the hotel, in restaurants and at the Lodge. We talked and had a great time with Briggs while the guys got sore from slamming the slops!

We were so sad to have them leave us.

This has been the best week of our lives. Briggsies little spirit has brought so much happiness to us. We are in LOVE with our sonThe day we got back from the hospital it was extremely warm outside. We took him for his first walk outside
Daddy loves him so much he barely gives the mommy a chance to hold him! Daddy takes care of burping, changing diapers, rocking him to sleep, hanging out with him on his lap and doing boy stuff.

Mommy forgot to prop his head up with blankets...oops

Briggs has a bit of Jaundice so we sat outside in the warm sun and watched it go down.

He loves being outdoors!

To celebrate his first week in the world Mommy & Briggs went on a hike.

I used the sling for the first time and he loved it!

It must take a lot of concentration for Briggs to sleep

Happy Birthday Monica!

My sister Monica is the nicest person I've ever met.
She was my best friend growing up and I absolutely idolized her...and still do.

I was constantly trying to be like her and pretty much still am. She is so incredibly patient, the best mom in the world and so fun and easy to be around. People are drawn to her. She is an incredible example to me. She's always thinking of others and aware of everybody's needs. Which is a feature not very many people have. AND She is the MOST genuine person in the world.

When I've ever felt a bit "off" like I should be on another planet (does anyone get like that sometimes, or is it just me) I remember that Monica and I share blood and it makes me feel normal again. (I know this sounds weird, but that thought has seriously helped me through some rough personal times)

Have you ever met anyone that you know is a ancient spirit, who's way beyond their years and who seems to have overcome all earthly issues....that's my sis.

The week before Christmas

I've been feeling the holiday cheer and desiring to discharge my inner home-maker...

I tried to "make," "bake," & "cook" new things this week that i've NEVER endeavored.

1st Challenge:

Home-Making raspberry jam.

My sweet friend, Kim, taught me how. Raspberries were on sale for a great price!

Home-making Cinnamon Rolls

I got to baby-sit our Friends children, Parker & Savannah, and they helped me make the rolls! They did great.

Unfortunately, after 4 unsuccessful batches, i gave up. Can it be THAT hard to make sweet rolls! Truthfully, the last batch wasn't too bad. However, this home-making challenge was too hard for me. I should have had a step-by-step coach for my first attempt. Turn-out: unattractive tasting :(

The night before his b-day our friends, the Seyboldts had us over for din din and b-day cake!

His friend Travis gave him Tennis shorts with Pockets! SO nice.

Those of you who know Bryce's past, know that a snowboarding helmet to protect the head is a great idea...right! He informed me he'll be taking it back....i'm not happy.
My parents gave him a shop-vac...he was ecstatic

Mr. Bryce is officially 28 today!

He seems to be a little overwhelmed at the idea that he's getting older. I think 28 is "that" age for him, when it hits you that life is moving along and you're right there with it.

This man makes me so happy.

I get to be married to him!

He is so kind to me. A very good husband and i KNOW he'll be an amazing father. Kids are drawn to him, all the little kids in the ward love him.

I'm impressed with Bryce's drive to be successful and support our family. He's a risk taker and a very hard worker. I appreciate that i never have to worry about his character or how he represents our family. He is a person i look up to greatly. I admire and absolutely adore him. Although we've been married for a year, every now and again i'll look at him and it hits me that we're married! I get so excited! I had to wait awhile for this guy, but he was worth the wait.

My sister made this quilt for our little guy! It looks so cute in his room. My aunt Terri and cousin Brooke made this quilt. So cute! I wish i got some of the talent my Mom, sisters, aunt, cousins, etc have for sewing.

These are some of the wonderful people who came to my shower. My sisters did such a good job! I had a great time seeing people i hadn't seen in a long time.... i love that!

We also played some fun games, like smell the poopy diaper (it was really melted chocolate, we had to guess what kind of candy bar...as you can imagine i was awful at the game) My cute little cousing won!

We had a great week.

It was a great Thanksgiving week because i'm so thankful for my life. It's so good with such good people in it.

Visitors..

J.D (our bro in law) and his family; Mark, Marky & Alex came to Colorado for the Byu vs. Airforce game. We met up with them at the best restaurant EVER!

The restaurant was in the middle of nowhere, an industrial part of town and looked like a double-wide trailer, but it was the BEST steak-house in the world!

Called: EMIL-LENES Sirloin Steak-house.

It was supposed to be a "guys" trip, except for when I showed up to dinner...but i have a guy in me, so i count.

Mark recieved some ground pepper on his steak. Nothing was "minimal" here.

Thank you Mark & J.D for the fun experience, and letting me "hang" with the boys.

My Sister Aleena also visited us! I'm so happy she came to hang out with me. We went on a bike-ride in the cold. Aleena's afraid of the cold, so we bundled up like there was a blizzard and stayed warm. I showed her all around Windsor...(I think i've convinced her to move here....?)

It was so great having her here. I love my family.

Bryce and his "buddy" Travis visit each other frequently (almost daily) for a game of Tennis or Golf.

They both have flexible schedules and get-out to play with each other frequently. It's great to have such good friends in the area. I think they're going to both go through withdrawls in the Winter... (what's to be done!)

We were also visited recently by a be-a-utiful sunset! I'm in love with Sunsets. Made my day.

HaaaPY BIRTHDAY Leener Beener!!!

I'm in a state of anaphalactic shock because i didn't realize that my little sister is 27 today! I thought she was 26. Does a year make a diff? Yes. It's o.k for me to get older but i want my sis's & bro's to stay the same age. Not sure why, especially because Aleena has become the most amazing lady. So intelligent, a great Mom, very level-headed and still a blast to be around. But, i don't want to lose the memories of the girl i grew up with.

Aleena has been fascinating to watch grow-up. She's always been her own person...one of the FUNNIEST people I've EVER known. She makes EVERY grim situation seem insignificant and light-hearted.

One of my best memories: We were cleaning the house as a fam on a saturday morning, tension and anger were running rampant. Aleena disappeared for a moment and came back into the the room where everyone was cleaning dressed in a pink leotard, tutu and hooker boots.(mind you she was in her 20's at the time) She announced that she was the happy cleaning ballerina (or something of that sort) as she pranced around the room doing pirouettes while waving her dusting stick in the air as if it was her wand. It was HILARIOUS! We all started rolling on the floor.

She was always an adventure. When i think of her i end up with a huge smile on my face and a massive chuckle protrudes. I wish i had pics to demonstrate the hilarity and fun her presence exudes. She's a special person and I'm so glad to be her older sister. I however, feel like she's an older sister. I always am calling her for advice about EVERYTHING. She is so wise.

Baby Hungry

I'm getting real baby needy lately. I cried when i viewed these videos...the preg hormo's are alive and well.

I've been trying to be all creative and mother-like lately. I was especially excited for our relief society super-saturday bcuz I signed up to make both the diaper bag, and the wall hanging. My mom would be proud that i sewed this bag. It was a nightmare. Took my forever, with a lot-a mistakes. And to top it all off, Bryce said he wouldn't be caught dead carrying it. So much for my innate desire for creativity...squashed.

My sweet friend, Kim also made the same bag, but with cuter material. Bryce saw her bag at church and asked why i couldn't have made one like hers. She ended up giving it to us for a baby gift! How nice is that! Now Bryce won't mind carrying the diaper bag wherever he goes.

My sweet sister-in-law, Adrie, helped me by making the adorable wall hanging. At least 1 thing turned out well from super-sat. We've started to put together the little guy's room...just in-case he's 9 weeks early ;)

WINDSOR SHOWER

My sweet relief society put together a baby shower for me. It was SO nice! It blows my mind how generous people are. This ward is so great.

This is Bryce's swifty 420 speedster stick-shift vehicle. He loves it. It's been his buddy for almost a year now. I never thought i would see it go. However.....

The other week Bryce came home with a climate change/little boy resistant vehicle. He traded in his speedster for it straight up. Welcome to the fam, X-terra.

One Year Together

Our 1st wedding anniversary The day included a red rose, eternal symbol of love from my hunka husband as well as a love note, a cozy dinner at the bent fork restaurant, a planned get-away trip to the neighboring city of Fort-collins to attend our weekly hypno-birthing class, and lots of shared first year memories. ahhhh.Although one year isn't a large amount of time, a lot has happened! We got married, randomly moved states, multiplied & replenished the earth, got outta debt, changed jobs, and learned how to change the little day-to-day things to accommodate each other. It's been an adventure and we look forward to many more years of adventures together. I never thought i was capable of loving and being loved this much. If i knew marriage was so fulfilling, i would have married Bryce 7 years ago. He is such a good man, i'm so lucky.

Halloween has been one of my favorite holidays. However, this year i learned the holiday is different when married with no kids (yet)...not as exciting.

First of all, i was all excited to give out candy, but we didn't get any treaters.

I even left the candy out on the porch and...nobody. Now somebody in our house is gonna have to eat it :(

I wore the same costume that i've worn for the past 7 yrs.

I dressed Bryce 5 minutes before our ward halloween party started, he was insisting to go as Bryce Lindsey.....totally creative. BUT, no-can-do, i dressed him as an army football guy.

At the ward party Bryce got candy...made the kids night. Afterward we went to a neighbors party. The moment we walked into the party, the man of the house said! "Ha, great costume!" (pointing to me) "A pregnant gypsie!.." (as he poked my tummy with his finger) "It looks real!" Poor guy felt pretty lame when i told him it was real.So i guess my costume ROCKED!

J.D & Adrienne White (Bryce's sis) called us friday night at 6:30 p.m. asking if they could make the 6.5 hour trip to see us! Talk about spontanious! We said, Heck ya! They arrived at 1:30 a.m. the following morning. It was SO much fun having them in town. As soon as they awoke, Bryce took J.D golfing and I took Adrienne to Relief Society Super Saturday where Adrie helped me make a diaper bag and a cute sign to go in the baby's room.

Here are the "Mom's-to-be" & the cousins hanging out. Adrie is due to have a little girl cousin 2 weeks after our little guy comes out.We took them up to the Rocky Mtns and went on a little hike to our favorite place...the alluvial fan.

J.D found a discarded pumpkin that he felt bad for so he brought it home.

His defense: Just cuz it wasn't pretty on the outside didn't mean it wasn't beautiful on the inside. Outcome: It produced amazing pumpkin seeds. Thanks for the lesson J.D

How men talk to their wives....

So, my hubbie and i talk. I feel like we talk all the time.
I tell him stories or we have long conversations, and of course i'm doing most of the talking, but we conversate.
So, why is it when i bring up a topic that we've previously talked about, he has NO CLUE what i'm saying...he can't remember a THING about the convo.
That got me wondering...
Are we really talking? am i talking? .....i AM talking, but to who?
So i did some internet investigating, i like to call it research.

Everyone was blogging about pumpkin patches so Bryce and I took our date-night to the local patch. It was dark....that's evidently a problem. Apparently you can't see the pumpkins without light.

We still made it work.

The injuries were minimal but apparent.
